International Tomato Sequencing Project Home

The International Tomato Genome Sequencing Project aims to sequence the gene-rich euchromatic portions of the twelve tomato chromosomes. An international consortium of sequencing centers is performing most of the genomic sequencing. Each chromosome is assigned to a sequencing center. The genome is split into manageable chunks known as BACs (Bacterial Artificial Chromosomes), which are sequenced separately, then assembled together. more...
